The baseball Tigers pounded Bolivar 10-1 in a non-conference game Monday evening at Republic. Myles Lozano and Ethan Anderson combined for seven innings of work without allowing an earned run.

Republic’s offense came alive in the second and fourth innings, scoring five runs in each frame. In the second inning, Jackson Overstreet and Wyatt Woods drew walks, and Cooper Pilkinton was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Carter Nation was then hit by a pitch, forcing home the tying run. Ryder Davis followed with an infield single, allowing Pilkinton to score and giving Republic a 2-1 lead. Garrett Lester’s sacrifice fly made it 3-1, and Devon Hughes capped the rally with a two-run double, extending the lead to 5-1.

The Tigers added five more runs in the fourth inning. Pilkinton led off with a double, and Brett Hendrickson singled to put runners at the corners. After Nation walked to load the bases, Lester drew a bases-loaded walk to force in a run. Hughes followed with an RBI walk, making it 7-1. Trace Harrington then singled, driving in two more runs, and Overstreet’s sacrifice fly brought the score to 10-1.

Lozano worked four innings and allowed only a single unearned run. Ethan Anderson worked three perfect innings in relief to secure the save for Republic.

Bolivar’s lone run came in the top of the second inning, courtesy of an error and an RBI single by Remington Manes.

Hughes drove in three runs and scored once for Republic. Lester and Harrington drove in two runs each. Brett Hendrickson and Carter Nation scored two runs apiece.

With the win, Republic improved to 14-12 on the season, while Bolivar fell to 10-13.

The Tigers will next travel to Nixa for a Central Ozark Conference game on Tuesday evening.
