Performance of the Week – Brenley Hagewood

Before Republic’s game against Ozark last week, Brenley Hagewood received a commemorative basketball marking his 1,000th career point, which he scored at the Bolivar Liberator Tournament in January. After that, he put on a show demonstrating how he’d achieved that milestone.

Hagewood dropped 31 points on Ozark, and he did it in typical Brenley Hagewood fashion. He slashed and gashed the Ozark defense all night, beating his defender off the dribble, cutting and hopping through the help defense, and flying to the rim for a series of acrobatic layups. He also dished out six assists, blocked a shot, took two charges, and grabbed four rebounds.

It was one of the most eye-popping games of Hagewood’s career, it led Republic to a 63-36 win against rival Ozark, and it was our Performance of the Week.
