Republic has rearranged the schedule for the Republic Invitational Tournament that will tip off the boys basketball season this week. Instead of being played Thursday through Saturday, play will open Wednesday, with the second round played Thursday and the final round Saturday.
Park Hill South and Ozark will begin the tournament with a game at 4:00 pm Wednesday, Nov. 29. Springdale, Ark., and Hillcrest will play at 5:30 pm. Republic meets Rogers, Ark., at 7:00, and Liberty and Rolla finish the evening at 8:30.
The consolation bracket games will be played first on Thursday, with the winner’s bracket semifinals to follow.
Saturday’s games will begin at 11:00 am. No matter the outcome of the first two nights, Republic’s game will be played last, at 3:30 pm Saturday, because Republic students will be arriving back late from the state championship football game Saturday night. Details of the Saturday schedule will be released after games end Thursday.
