The Lady Tigers softball team got another lopsided win in its second game of the season at the Morrisville tournament Saturday evening, knocking off Carthage 11-1. Kara Goeke was the winning pitcher, and Republic got two home runs – one from Sammi Watson in the first inning and another from Annabelle Gerhardt-Hobbs in the third inning. In two games, Republic has defeated its opponents by a combined score of 23-1.
Republic is two wins away from a tournament championship. First up, the semifinals later tonight. The championship game probably won’t end until after midnight.
