Kaemyn Bekemeier and Connor Sandridge are this year’s honorees as Republic Tiger Sports Lady Tiger and Tiger of the Year.
Republic keeps track of 30 individual girls basketball records. Bekemeier owns or shares 12 of them. She was also a mainstay on the Republic volleyball team, which had its best season in a decade. For the second year in a row, she’s our Lady Tiger of the Year.
Connor Sandridge was the leading rusher for Republic’s resurgent football team, the starting second baseman for Republic’s winningest-ever baseball team, and he earned all-state recognition with a fourth-place wrestling medal in Columbia. He did it all while battling nagging injuries throughout the year, earning him our Tiger of the Year Award.
