Kaemyn Bekemeier got the most attention for surpassing the 2,000-point mark for her career during the second game of the Nixa Invitational Tournament. But her weekend performance was typical of what has made her such a force for the Lady Tigers during her four seasons.
In three games (all against state-ranked opponents), Bekemeier led Republic in scoring three times, with 21, 20, and 24 points during successive games. Her three-game scoring average of 21.7 was actually below her season average, but good enough for second-highest among any player in the six-team tournament.
