Republic is seeded second in the upcoming Pink & White Lady Basketball Classic in Springfield. The Lady Tigers will open Tuesday, December 27, at 11:00 am, with a game against Aurora at the O’Reilly Family Event Center on the Drury University campus.
Republic will compete in the White Division. Grain Valley is the top seed in that bracket, with Kickapoo third and Cabot, Ark., fourth.
Republic last played Aurora in the 2020 Pink & White, winning 70-27. Kaemyn Bekemeier, as a freshman, led the team with 18 points.
If the Lady Tigers beat Aurora, they’ll play at 3:30 on Wednesday, December 28, against Lebanon (7) or unseeded Thayer. If they win that game, they would be matched up with one of four teams: Kickapoo (3), Carthage (6), Glendale, or Springfield Catholic. That semifinal game would be at 5:00 on Thursday.
The championship game for the White Division will be played at 6:00 pm on Friday, December 30.
