Performance of the Week – November 15, 2022

Brady Lewis fell just a little bit short of his goal of state medal, but nobody can dispute his performance at the state meet. Lewis was competing in two events — the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard backstroke — and he swam his best time ever in both those events. Both his best times came in the preliminary heats on Friday, and both were school records.

In the butterly, Lewis swam his preliminary race in 52.70, finishing 10th and earning a place in the consolation finals. In the backstroke, Lewis finished in 55.95. That placed him 17th overall, just one spot out of the finals.

The weekend marked Lewis’s third appearance at the state championship in St. Peters, and he’ll have his senior season to break through onto the medal stand next year. His 2022 state performance, though, was our Performance of the Week.
