Republic senior first baseman EmmaLee Essary is a 2022 all-state selection by the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association. Essary was named to the all-state second-team infield. She’s the first all-state selection from Republic since Kaitlyn Ragsdale in 2019.
Essary hit .462 and slugged an even 1.000 during her senior season. She homered 13 times and finished the year with 29 extra base hits. She finished her career with 27 career home runs, tied with Kami Holt for the most in Republic program history. She had previously been named to the all-Central Ozark Conference and all-region teams.
Essary was the only senior on the 2022 softball team.
“She was probably the most feared hitter in our conference,” Coach Lee Dishman said at her college signing last week. “But what I’m most proud of her for is being a teammate to (the) young kids.”
Essary signed last week with Chipola College in Florida, a program with three National Junior College Athletic Association championships — including their most recent, in 2019.
