Three Republic cross country runners finished in the top ten at the Laker Invitational Saturday in Camdenton. The girls team finished third behind Bolivar and Nixa in a 12-team field. The boys finished sixth in a 20-team field.
Gracie Troester was the top finisher, finishing third with a time of 19:08, setting a new personal best by six seconds. Kristin Probst finished eighth (20:04). That was a personal record for her, too, beating her old best by about 26 seconds.
In the boys race, Brady Purcell cracked the top ten with a time of 16:37.50. That was just five seconds off his personal best time set at Missouri Southern, and it was good for tenth place.
Cooper Davis (17:15.58) was the next-best finisher among the Republic boys, placing 21st. Joey Mullins, William Payne, and Cannon Underwood all turned in personal-best times. Kaisei Wilcutt and Dak Henning also competed for Republic.
Among the girls, Misora Nambara finished 27th and Brooklyn Douglas was 38th. Kennidy Verheyen finished 45th, setting a personal record.
