Brady Lewis led the way for the Republic swimmers at Foster Natatorium in Springfield Thursday. Competing in the 100-yard butterfly, Lewis finished with a time of 59.18. That was more than four-fifths of a second better than his previous best time this year, and it was good for third.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Lewis finished in 1:00.67. That dropped 2.83 seconds from his previous best, and it placed him second.

Republic swim newcomer Noah Marshall made big strides on his times in his two events. He swam the 200-year individual medley in 2:20.03. He finished the 100-yard backstroke in 1:04.05.
