The number of tiebreakers won by Republic tennis players at the COC tournament Wednesday on their way to two top finishes. Izzy Wells and Taylor Massey won tiebreakers in the semifinals and finals of the #1 doubles bracket. Elli Woodward won three tiebreakers in six matches on her way to a third-place finish in the #2 doubles bracket.

The number of assists by Brooklyn Claxton so far this season. That’s more than any other setter in a 6-2 offense in Republic volleyball history. (A 6-2 employs two setters through the rotation, essentially cutting the assist opportunities in half for each one.) The previous record, set in the time when matches were best two-of-three-sets, was 363 assists by Kayna Daniel in 2006.

The number of consecutive points scored by Republic in the second half, after they entered halftime trailing Willard 22-21. Republic scored a touchdown on its first possession and never trailed again.

The number of Republic runners who were in the top ten of the two varsity cross country races at the Republic Invitational this week. Brady Purcell won the boys race, followed by teammates Joey Mullins (6th) and Cooper Davis (9th). Gracie Troester and Kristin Probst finished first and second in the girls race. Misora Nambara finished eighth and Brooklyn Douglas finished ninth.

The number of runs scored by Republic and Webb City during a 10-inning offensive extravaganza. Webb City won the game 18-17. The teams combined for 45 base hits. There were seven doubles, two triples, and seven home runs — four by Webb City and three by Republic. Gracie Woods and EmmaLee Essary each had five base hits for Republic, and Essary hit for the cycle, with a single, two doubles, a triple, and a home run.
