Republic’s relay teams have gotten a lot of attention because of their success this season, but a trio of runners is leading the way for the long-distance corps.
At the SBU High School Invite earlier this week, Gracie Troester and Miha Nambara had top-eight finishes in both the 1600m and the 3200m runs. Troester and Nambara placed fifth and sixth in the 1600m, respectively, and fifth and seventh in the 3200m. Both of them ran personal-best times in both races.
Ethan Haynes continued his strong season in the boys distance races, finishing fourth in both the 1600m and the 3200m, setting a personal record with a 4:28.94 in the 1600m. He had previously won both those races at both Ozark and Nixa.
