Republic won the opening game 25-18 and had an opportunity to take control with a win in the second game, but fell a little short. Carl Junction won the last two points of that game to win 25-23, evening the score. From there, Carl Junction won two more close games to close it out, 25-20 and 25-22.

Three different players – Kailey Manes, Rilynn Finley, and Kaemyn Bekemeier – had 11 kills for Republic. Finley also had three blocks. Bekemeier had 17 digs, and Payge Plank dished out 48 assists.

Republic won the JV match in two sets and lost the freshman match in three.

The varsity loss drops Republic’s record to 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the Central Ozark Conference. Republic plays next at Branson on September 28.
