Who's Hot?

The Republic freshman baseball team has gotten off to quite the start in 2021. They’re 13-2 through their first fifteen games and, through that fifteen-game stretch, have outscored their opponents 149-54, which means that they’re averaging just under 10 runs a game and given up just over 3 runs a game. The team has also hit three home runs and thrown a no-hitter.

On Tuesday the Tigers had one of their wildest games of the season against Ozark. They got blew their 10-3, but home runs by Caide White and Mason Mitchell kept the Tigers in it and the game went into extras tied at 15. Trace Harrington secured the win for Republic with his walk-off triple in the eighth inning.

Here are some more players notes and comments from coach Josh Reed:

“Caide White threw a no-hitter in opening game vs Glendale at Kickapoo in a 7-0 win and hit an inside the park Grand Slam at home vs Ozark in the crazy 16-15 win.

The success of this team has the coaching staff of Republic excited about the future season of Tiger baseball, and they hope that they can continue to grow as players and people and put themselves in a position to contribute at the varsity level, maybe sooner than anticipated.
