The Republic girls track team won three relay medals and seven individual medals at the Girls Night Out track meet in Springfield Thursday. Thirty-five schools competed, with the top eight finishers in each event earning a medal.
Jasmyn Douglas was the top finisher for Republic, taking second place in the 800-meter run. She finished in 2:30.73, and was the top finisher among southwest Missouri runners. She finished behind Karlie Wooten of Liberty.
Douglas was also a member of the 4×800 meter relay team that took third. Douglas, Kristin Probst, and Miha and Misora Nambara finished that race in 10:12.22 – nearly a second better than their winning time at the Branson Invitational last week.
Republic’s 4×400 meter relay team (Aaliyah Vasquez, Probst, Gracie Woods, and Douglas) finished fourth with a time of 4:18.40. Ozark, Jefferson City, and Blue Springs were 1-2-3.
The 4×100 meter relay team (Woods, Jenna Belcher, Vasquez, and Kaitlyn Ragsdale) was 8th, with a time of 53.07.
A.J. Fenske brought home two more medals in the throwing events. She was fourth in the discus (31.40m) and fifth in the shot put (10.39m)
Aaliyah Vasquez continued her strong season in the triple jump, finishing fourth out of 41 competitors. She jumped 10.34 meters.
Kaitlyn Ragsdale took fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.94. Kristin Probst was sixth in the 400 meter dash, finishing in 1:04.06. And Lexi Reeves cleared 2.58 meters in the pole vault, good for seventh place.
