Sister Act: Nambaras Take Top Spots at Willard

Republic’s Miha and Misora Nambara finished 1-2 at the Willard Highline Cross Country Invitational. Miha finished in 19:21.20, nearly two minutes ahead of the rest of the field. Misora, a freshman, finished second with a time of 21:14.90.

Two other Republic girls finished in the top ten: freshman Kristin Probst was sixth (21:40.40) and senior Jasmyn Douglas was eighth (21:52.30).

Ethan Haynes was the top finisher among Republic boys, running the race in 17:44.90 to take tenth. Cooper Davis was 21st (18:44).

The Willard Highline title was the second consecutive win for Miha, who topped the field at Bolivar Tuesday. Misora finished fourth that day, with Probst sixth. Douglas finished 11th overall in Bolivar.

Haynes finished seventh at Bolivar for the top Republic result in the boys race.
