Republic brought home three medals, including two first-place finishes, at the Republic Invitational Tournament. Wyatt George and Jonathan O’Connell each won their weight classes, and Dominick Famiano finished second.
The Tigers also honored their four seniors Saturday: O’Connell, Gabe Hesington, John Hickman, and Jace McClelland.
George pinned all six of his opponents, including Rogersville’s Jacob Foster in the final round. His fastest pin of the day was 22 seconds, and he pinned four of his opponents within a minute.
O’Connell also pinned all six of his opponents, and his record stands now at 32-0 this season.
Famiano’s only loss came in the finals against Tobias Collins of Kickapoo when he was pinned late in the third round.
