Republic High School honored two of its recent all-state athletes during a recent halftime ceremony. Ally Stolte was an all-state softball player in the fall of 2017, and Alex Leonard earned all-state soccer honors in both 2017 and 2018. Both graduated last spring and will have their all-state plaques hanging alongside other RHS all-staters in the high school’s trophy room.
Ally Stolte
Stolte earned all-conference and all-district recognition in her junior and senior seasons, making the all-state team at third base as a senior. She anchored the Lady Tigers lineup with a .467 batting average, 10 home runs, and 36 runs batted in her final year. She also racked up 42 base hits and scored 39 runs as a senior.
For her career, Stolte finished with 17 homers and 78 RBIs, scoring 91 runs. Her career batting average was .374. The Lady Tigers went 88-25 during Stolte’s career.
Stolte is playing softball at the University of Arkansas-Monticello.
Alex Leonard
Leonard was the first soccer player in Republic history to earn all-state recognition in two different season. He started for coach Kevin Hauck’s defense all four years, and he was a kay part of Republic’s best-ever season in 2017, when the Tigers went 24-5 and finished third in Missouri Class 3.
With Leonard as one of its key contributors, Republic set a record by allowing only 31 goals in 2016, the fewest in school history. The team matched that record in 2017.
Leonard was an all-district and all-conference selection as a sophomore, junior, and senior. He was part of the Class 3 All-Region team in 2017 and the Class 4 All-Region team in 2018.
In 2017, Leonard was an all-state second-team selection and he earned honorable mention in 2017.
