Republic scored a run in the top of the first inning at Ozark, but it was all downhill from there. Ozark struck back with two runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead for good and went on to earn an 8-1 victory in the final conference game of Republic’s season.
Megan Weis scored on an RBI single by Katie Anderson to account for Republic’s only run.
Ozark piled up ten base hits – four of them for extra bases, including a home run.
Weis had two of Republic’s six hits. Jaiden Gibbs and Riley Laub also doubled. Republic left seven runners on base.
Republic falls to 16-9. Their final regular-season game is next Monday at Logan-Rogersville.
