Competing in the Springfield Metro Baseball League, Republic sophomore Tristin Deckard won the Champion of the Majors Power Derby trophy on June 16th. He compiled 20 points in the Power Derby, a competition conducted for players in the league. His finish in the Power Derby also qualified him to play in the league’s Derby Cup game on June 20. Deckard’s Metro League teammate, Vince Hicks of Ozark, finished second in the Majors-level competition.
