Haven Lander leads the Tigers and Lady Tigers into the sectional track & field competition at Waynesville Saturday. Lander was the only Republic athlete to win a district championship in an individual event. She did it with her pole vault of 10’9”. Lander is also part of the 4x100m relay team that qualified.
Avy Powell-Qualo and Lauren O’Hara will each compete in three events. They’re both on the 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams; Powell-Qualify qualified in the high jump with a school record jump of 5’6” at districts; O’Hara qualified in the long jump.
Jack Hayes will compete in both discus and shot put. He turned in a personal best shot put distance of 45’ 4.5” to finish 3rd at districts.
