Taylor Fergen says she’s learned a lot of lessons from her time in the Republic Lady Tigers basketball program –– but one stands out among them.
“I’ve learned a lot of lessons from it, and it’s made me work really hard, especially. I feel like that work ethic that it’s taught me will carry over a lot into college,” Fergen says.
Fergen will put that work ethic to use at John Brown University, where she has committed to play basketball next season.
“I like the small feel of it. I like that it is a Christian university,” Fergen says. WWhenever I went on the visit, it felt right. It felt like I could have a lot of fun for four years there, and they have a really good basketball program, so I’m excited for that.”
Fergen will join Republic soccer player Emily Jordan, who cited a similar experience after visiting JBU for her decision to go there. Fergen says she’s looking foward to the opportunity to take her game to the next level.
“I’m excited to see how I’ll adjust. It will be a challenge for sure, but I’m excited to take that challenge and see how it goes,” she says.
