Resurgent Lady Tigers Sweep Vikings

After two straight losing seasons, the Lady Tigers volleyball team is doing its best to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Republic walloped Parkview 25-14 25-14 at home Tuesday night, improving to 9-3 in 2016. They didn’t pick up their ninth win last season until their 21st match.

Bella Drennan had 16 assists for Republic. Lauren O’Hara led the team with six kills, and Eryn Russell had five digs and four service aces.

“I think we’ve really connected as a team. We get along really well and we play our hardest,” Drennan says of Republic’s success this season. “We all connect and talk to each other. Communication is the most important thing. It’s what keeps us going. When we’re down, we don’t communicate and that’s why we lose.”

The JV and freshman teams also won in straight sets. The JV score was 25-19 25-12. The freshmen won 25-15 25-16.
