Coach Piper Wright just wanted her team to make sure they took care of the basics against Springfield Parkview. The Lady Tigers had no trouble doing that in an easy straight-set win, 25-5 25-15.
Lauren O’Hara led Republic with five kills and four digs. Brooke Stanfield also contributed five digs.
Lexi Long led the team with two blocks. Mikayla Botkin had a big night in the setter position with 11 assists and eight service aces.
“Tonight we just wanted to focus on taking care of our side of the net and making sure we were focused on the basics like serving and passing, and I feel like we did that,” says Wright.
The JV team won 25-9 25-12. The freshmen won their only set, 25-2.
Republic improves to 5-6-1.
