State Track 2015 – Live Updates

Meet your Class 4 long jump state champion!

Finals are underway and Jerney Jones extends his long jump lead with a jump of 22′ 2 1/4″!

His second jump was 22′ 1 1/2″ (below). He scratched on his third jump. His distance puts him #1 going into the finals. Nine finalists get three more jumps. The preliminary jumps carry over, so his 22′ 1 1/2″ is the mark to beat.

Haven Lander finishes in the top four. She’s out at 11’3″ with two girls still jumping.

Lander is over 11’0″ in the rain! Ties a personal best and she’s still alive.

Haven Lander has gone over 10’9″ and is at least guaranteed of an all-state finish. The skies just opened up and we’re in a rain delay.

Haven Lander has cleared 10’3″ in the class 4 pole vault. She missed once at 10’0″. The rain is on-again off-again.

Tryston Ellison takes third place in the 100m dash! He ran the finals in 10.93.

Jerney Jones finished 10th in the 200m dash. He still has the long jump remaining tomorrow.

Both the boys and girls 4×100 relay teams failed to qualify for the finals. The girls team ran its second-fastest time of the year, despite failing to advance to the final heat.

Next up for Republic, the 4×100 boys and girls relay teams will compete. The mile run is scheduled before that.

Tryston Ellison runs the 100m dash in 10.79, which is the fastest of the qualifying times among 16 competitors! He had been seeded 14th coming in, but a great start propelled him to the front of the field in the finals tomorrow.

Jerney Jones finished 10th.

Brooke Stanfield finishes tied for 4th in Class 4 high jump and will receive an all-state medal.

Stanfield is out at 5’4″. I’ll update with her place when it’s finalized.

Stanfield has missed her first two attempts at 5’4″. She slipped on the first.

She’s over 5’3″! No misses yet. only eight left, so Brooke Stanfield is all-state!
