Philip Canfield and Brylee Manes led the way for Republic’s cross-country squad at Camdenton over the weekend. Canfield ran his second-best time of the year (16:28) to place second. On the girls’ side, Brylee Manes ran the course in 20:50 to take 11th. Morgan Prunty finished second in the junior varsity race with a time of 23:29.
For both Manes and Prunty, their times were a personal best. Manes cracked the 21-minute barrier for the first time, and Prunty beat her old record by three minutes 19 seconds.
Canfield ran in 3rd place most of the day before taking over 2nd place in the final 200 meters of the race.
Among the other Republic runners, CJ Richardson also posted a personal best, breaking the 20-minute mark for the first time with a time of 19:56.
