Three Advance to Cross Country Sectionals

Philip Canfield, Brylee Manes, and Madison Appleberry will continue their cross-country seasons next weekend. The three Republic runners qualified with top-30 finishes on a hot day at the Class 4 District 6 meet at Raymore-Peculiar.

Canfield was the top Republic finisher, running the course in 17:29.80 to finish ninth among the boys. That was good enough to earn all-district recognition.

In the girls’ race, Manes finished 19th, with a time of 21:52.80. Appleberry finished 23rd, completing the course in 22:07.10. The Republic girls team placed 7th as a group, finishing ahead of several teams that had beaten them earlier in the season.
