Philip Canfield took 3rd place at the Central Ozark Conference cross-country meet Tuesday. Canfield ran his race in 16:40. It was a fast field, with all of the top ten runners finishing in under 17 minutes.
Also on the boys’ side, Aaron Scobee broke 20 minutes for the first time, finishing in 19:55. Republic didn’t have enough runners to compete in the boys’ team race, because of an injury to Chad Parker.
The Republic girls team finished fourth overall. They were led by Brylee Manes, who placed 11th. Taytum Carter (18th), Madi Appleberry (21st), Destinee Tyk (24th) and Morgan Prunty (39th) rounded out the top five for Republic. Sara Wilken also competed for the Lady Tigers.
