Rachel Rook struck out nine and allowed only three base hits in a 6-0 win over Willard Thursday. Rook didn’t walk a batter, and threw 70 strikes out of her 102 total pitches for the night.
The Lady Tigers got all the runs they needed in the top of the 1st. They scored twice on a dropped popup by the Willard second baseman, then scored again when Lauren Strobel stole home.
Republic added two more runs in the 5th inning after Emily Hall hit a leadoff triple. Taylor Gold walked, a run came in on a passed ball, and Abby Norris singled home Gold.
The Lady Tigers’ final run of the game came in the 6th, when Kami Holt singled home Molly Zinecker.
Norris and Caty Eby each had two hits to lead the Lady Tigers’ offense.
Republic improves to 10-3. They’re 4-1 in the Central Ozark Conference.
