Philip Canfield put together his best cross-country ever, storming through the course in 16:22 on his way to a second-place finish in the large-school division at the Nixa Invitational.
Brylee Manes was the top finisher for the Republic girls. She was 22nd, with a time of 21:03. Madison Appleberry and Taytum Carter also turned in top-40 performances. Destinee Tyk, Payton Coskey, and Sara Wilken also competed for the Republic girls, who finished seventh out of 11 teams.
On the boys’ side, Chad Parker, Aaron Scobee, CJ Richardson, and Owen Davis also ran for Republic, and all turned in the best times of their careers. Parker’s time of 19:46 was his first time breaking 20 minutes. They finished 13th out of 15 teams.
Morgan Prunty and McKae Geromini ran JV on a shorter course (2.2 miles). Prunty finished in 17:04, earning her first cross country medal with a 10th-place finish.
