Tigers basketball guard Jake Fletcher has taken his place in the Republic All-State Hall of Fame. He was honored this week at halftime of Republic’s game against Willard.
Fletcher helped lead the Tigers to a state championship during his senior season. He hit four three-pointers in the state championship game against Normandy, including a 28-footer at the buzzer to end the 1st quarter that energized the Tigers and ended up being the difference in the game.
The Tigers also won back-to-back Blue & Gold Tournament championships during Fletcher’s junior and senior seasons. He was named to the All-Tournament Team both years.
After Fletcher’s senior season, he was named to the all-conference and all-district teams. The state’s sportswriters also honored him with a 2nd team all-state designation.
Fletcher is playing basketball this season as a freshman at Missouri Valley College in Marshall.
