The Republic cheerleaders turned in three solid performances at their regional competition in Sparta Monday. The varsity squad finished 2nd among more than 20 schools, with Willard capturing the title. Their performance qualifies them for the state competition in Columbia on September 14-15.

The Republic JV squad finished 1st in its division with a flawless routine. The Middle School squad finished 2nd.

The varsity cheerleaders will be one of 15 teams competing in their division at state. Republic won a state cheer title in 2010, and has finished in the top three at state in three of the past four years.
