The Republic Lady Tigers soccer team has put its slow start behind it in a big way. After losing three of its first five matches, Republic has reeled off eight straight wins. The latest is a 3-0 win over Hillcrest on the road.
Sara Marcotte started the scoring when she took a feed from Sierra Casagrand and put the ball in the back of the net about three minutes into the game. Marcotte scored again with 28:35 left in the half to make the score 2-0. And Marcotte assisted on a third goal when she got the ball to Sierra Casagrand for the final score, with 9:19 remaining in the half.
The only negative for the Lady Tigers during the match was an injury to Emily Cremeans. She went down with a severely sprained ankle and will be out of action for an undetermined amount of time.
