Jones Honored for All-State Volleyball Career

All state 1Republic volleyball player Jordan Jones, who helped lead Republic to two state quarterfinal appearances in three years, has been honored by her alma mater. Jones was given a plaque recognizing her as an all-state honoree, to be hung alongside Republic’s other all-state athletes.

Jones was a member of the all-state volleyball team after her sophomore year — the first of two seasons that the Lady Tigers advanced to the state quarterfinals. In both seasons, Republic fell just two points short of advancing to the Final Four.

As a freshman, Jones was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Junior Olympic Nationals. After her sophomore year, in addition to the all-state honors, she was a 1st-team all-district, all-conference, and all-region honoree.

Jones played tennis during her senior year, helping the Lady Tigers win the first district championship in school history.

She graduated second in her class with a 4.41 GPA in 2012, and is currently attending the University of Missouri. She’s a setter on the Mizzou traveling club volleyball team.
