Sierra Casagrand scored a goal in the opening minute, and that was all the Lady Tigers needed for a win at Branson. But she tacked on two more goals, and Sara Marcotte and Jocelyn Carpenter each added one on the way to a 5-0 victory.
Casagrand’s opening goal might have signaled a fast start, but that was the only goal Republic would score in the first half. The Lady Tigers clung to a 1-0 lead at the break.
In the second half, Casagrand scored again on an assist from Brittany Griffith at the 39 minute mark. About ten minutes later, Carpenter and Marcotte scored in quick succession, 43 seconds apart, to make the score 4-0. Casagrand completed her hat trick at the 15-minute mark to round out the scoring.
The Lady Tigers are on the road again tonight, traveling to Greenwood as they prep for district play beginning next week.
