Payton Looney scored 18 points to lead four Tigers in double figures, as Republic sprinted past Monett on the road, 71-42.
Playing without senior guard Nick Yocum, who’s out with a broken bone in his wrist, the Tigers got their best offensive production of the year from their front court. Big men Cody Geiger and Grant Hancock had 14 apiece.
Republic jumped out to a big lead in the first half, pulling ahead 41-19 by halftime. Looney had 13 of his 18 points in the first half.
Canyon Smith added 10 for the Tigers, who improved to 5-1 on the season. The loss dropped Monett to 3-3.
