The Republic Lady Tigers hit 11 3-pointers in their best offensive performance of the season, a 90-44 win over Carthage Saturday.
Five players scored in double figures for Republic, led by Kyra Ramsey with 17. Alex Botkin scored 13, Payton Rayl had 12, Alice Heinzler scored 11, and Sarah Kruel scored 10.
Rayl and Heinzler combined for seven 3-pointers between them. Rayl had four, and Heinzler had three.
The game was close for one quarter, with Republic leading 22-16 after the first eight minutes. But the Lady Tigers outscored Carthage 30-9 in the 2nd quarter, and from there, the rout was on.
Republic scored 27 more points in the 3rd quarter, allowing only 11. And with a continuously running clock in the 4th quarter, the Lady Tigers outscored Carthage 11-8 to account for the final margin.
Republic improves to 16-6. Their only COC loss is to Webb City, as they head into the final week of the regular season.
Carthage falls to 12-9.
Republic’s JV team improved to 15-2 this season, with a 65-48 win.
