The 4th-seeded Republic Lady Tigers had three players score in double figures, as they beat Hillcrest in the 1st round of the Pink & White Tournament 57-43. Republic used a big 2nd quarter to fuel their victory. They went on a 15-0 run to start the period, and led 27-14 at halftime.
Hillcrest made it a game in the 3rd quarter by outscoring Republic 18-15, and eventually cut the lead to seven points points, before Republic put the game away.
Kyra Ramsey scored 13 points for the Lady Tigers. Sarah Kreul had 12 and Alexis Edwards scored 11.
Republic advances to the 2nd round, and will play Marshfield at 6 p.m. tomorrow. Marshfield is seeded 5th, and advanced by beating Nixa 62-28.
