Two Republic Tigers have signed letters of intent to play college football. Colton McCarty (RB/DB) and Jake Blanford (C/DT) will both be playing college ball for NAIA schools. McCarty has signed with Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. Blanford has signed with Baker University, in Baldwin City, Kansas.
The two will meet on the field every year, because both schools compete in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. That means they’ll also be returning to the Springfield area for games, because Evangel University competes in the same league.
