Lady Tigers Stop Skid, Beat Carthage

The Republic Lady Tigers used a big second half to come from behind and capture an important road victory over Carthage, 55-45.

The Lady Tigers fell behind early, and trailed 16-7 after the first quarter. As the second half began, Republic faced a 10-point deficit, 28-18.

But the Lady Tigers used solid defense in the 3rd quarter to close the gap, outscoring Carthage 17-7. The game was tied 35-35 after three quarters.

The Lady Tigers saved their best offensive output for the 4th quarter, outscoring Carthage 20-10 down the stretch to take the victory.

The win gives the Lady Tigers a better start to February, as they look to put a rough January behind them. That month ended with a string of losses and an injury to senior Jayme Sifferman.
