Tigers Get Easy Road Win at Monett

When Republic traveled to Monett Friday, neither team scored for the first three minutes of the game. After that, it was all Republic. The Tigers cruised to a 58-25 win over the Cubs.

Republic overcame poor shooting early to take a commanding 29-8 lead at halftime. The Tigers outscored Monett 16-2 in the second period. They led 48-19 at the end of three quarters, before stretching the lead to 33 points at the final buzzer.

Republic had four players who reached double figures in scoring: Kevin Stander, Jonathan Combs, Ryan Mathis and Josh Morrow. Stander left the game with an injured ankle.

The Tigers improve to 5-1. They’ll be back in action the day after Christmas against Cassville in the Blue/Gold Tournament.

The JV team beat Monett 44-34.
