Kevin Stander had 21 points and Josh Morrow had 13, as Republic beat Cassville in the opening round of the Blue & Gold Tournament at JQH Arena.
The Tigers jumped on top early, leading 16-4 after the first quarter, and never looked back. The lead was 29-15 at halftime, and 45-29 after the third quarter. Cassville cut the lead to 10 in the 4th quarter before Republic sealed the win.
In addition to Stander and Morrow, the Tigers got eight points apiece from Jonathan Combs and Nick Dibbens. Dylan Fletcher had four points, and Josh Fanning and Louis Dorris had two apiece.
Chris Smith led Cassville with 12 points.
