The Lady Tiger volleyball team’s strong showing at the Springfield Classic Tournament this weekend helped it jump to #5 in the latest Class Three state rankings. That’s up one spot from last week, when Republic was ranked sixth by the Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association.
St. Francis Borgia (16-2-2), which split two sets with Republic this weekend, is on top of the rankings. Kansas City O’Hara (6-3) is second. Cape Girardeau Notre Dame (15-1) is ranked third, and DeSoto (17-0) is fourth.
After Republic, the top ten includes Villa Duchesne (12-4-1), Platte County (10-0-2), Holden (10-3-3), Mountain Grove (7-4-1) and Boonville (5-3).
All three of Republic’s losses are to Class Four teams. Glendale is ranked #6, and Webb City and Kickapoo are both ranked just outside the top ten.
