Alexah Replogle’s ground-rule double broke a 7th-inning tie to give Webb City a 2-1 victory over Republic. Before Replogle’s hit, the Cardinals had been shut out since scoring an unearned run in the first inning.

The Lady Tigers managed only two hits — by Hailey Johnson and Bre Hemphill. Their lone run came on a 5th-inning sacrifice fly by Stephanie Eckhoff, scoring Carlie Campbell.

Johnson struck out five against a Webb City team that advanced to the Final Four last season, and is expected to challenge for the state title again this year. Coach Mike Thorne called her performance the best of the season so far.  (Listen to his postgame comments below.)

Republic falls to 6-3. They’ll play at Neosho Thursday.

The JV Lady Tigers won their game 2-1, behind solid pitching from Stephanie Eckhoff and Brooke Dutton.
