Monett scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings, and scored twice again in the bottom of the ninth for a 7-6 softball victory over Republic. The Lady Tigers made six errors in suffering their first loss of the year.
Amanda Davis was 4-for-4 with two doubles and 2 RBIs for Republic. Hailey Johnson struck out three on the mound.
Republic had taken the lead in the top of the ninth on an RBI groundout by Rachael Michaelis, after Payton Appleberry and Amanda Davis singled to start the inning. But consecutive doubles and a wild pitch helped Monett come from behind for a second time to pick up the 7-6 victory.
The Republic JV team won 7-1.
