My favorite memory from this program was definitely the dance parties we had in the locker room. We would turn off the lights, turn on the LED lights, blast music, and all sing and dance together. It was always so much fun and was one of those little moments that brought everyone together and made us laugh.
The biggest thing softball has taught me is the importance of teamwork and getting back up. It has taught me a life lesson that things aren’t always going to go your way, and sometimes you’re going to make mistakes or face hard moments. You have to pick yourself back up, keep going, trust the people around you, and learn from every experience.
My advice for younger players is to enjoy every moment and not take it for granted. Make memories with your teammates, support each other, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes because that’s how you grow. The seasons go by faster than you think, so make the most of every opportunity.

My favorite memory is my sophomore year during districts when we wore all orange uniforms. It looked funny but got us hype before the game.
The biggest thing this sport has taught me is discipline and motivation.

From the time I was 11 through my junior year, Coach Dishman taught me lessons that extended far beyond softball, including perseverance, accountability, and how to handle both success and failure. When Coach McHenry took over my senior year, I was grateful to carry those lessons with me while continuing to grow and learn through a new chapter of my softball journey.
My biggest piece of advice to a younger softball player is to relax and simply do your job. You only get so many opportunities to step onto that dirt, so make the most of every chance and enjoy every moment while you can.

One of my favorite memories from this program is having team dinners every Wednesday. It is a time to be together as a team, but not focused only on softball.
Something I will take with me that the Republic Softball program has taught me is that every game is a new game. If you mess up in the first game, use the second game to reset and start over.

Softball has taught me many things, such as how to be a leader, be responsible, and work well with others. However, the biggest lesson it has taught me is that you can put in all the hard work and effort you have, and things still may not always go your way. You can’t control every outcome; you can only control what you can control and trust that God will take care of the rest. Another important lesson softball has taught me is that nothing will simply be handed to you. If you want to accomplish something, you have to be willing to work hard for it, stay committed, and keep pushing yourself even when things get difficult.
My advice for young players is to understand that there will be many times when you fail, and that is simply part of life and the game. You can’t focus on your mistakes; instead, focus on what you can learn from them and the positives you can take away from each situation. It’s also important to always be positive and encouraging toward your teammates, because you are all working toward the same goal and need to support each other through the ups and downs. Never give up on yourself, keep pushing through the challenges, and strive to become the best person, teammate, and player you can be each day!
