Smith Opens Season with Career-Best Score

Jenna Smith opened the Lady Tigers’ golf season with the best round of her career, shooting an 83 at the MSU Relays on Wednesday to finish 9th in a field of 85 golfers.

The 83 beat Smith’s previous career-low round by six strokes. She shot an 89 at last year’s Central Ozark Conference tournament. Only the top six finishers earned medals Wednesday, leaving Smith three spots outside the medal stand despite her top-10 finish.

Chloe Priebe shot a 115 and Eliza Scullawl a 118 in their first competitive rounds.
