Republic made its second trip to Branson in three days Monday night, and this time the Lady Tigers left with a match win, beating the Lady Pirates three sets to one, 25-22, 25-17, 25-27, 25-23.
Republic won the first two sets and had a chance to finish the sweep, but Branson extended the third set past 25 and stole it, 27-25. The Lady Tigers answered in the fourth, closing out a 25-23 set to end the match and improve to 5-1 on the season.
The visit was a return engagement — Republic spent Saturday in Branson as part of the Branson Invitational, winning four of five matches.
Rylee Vent and Reese Finley led the attack with 13 kills apiece. Vent also anchored the back row with 24 digs. Chloe Pullan handed out 32 assists, and Kate Mitchell had three blocks and three service aces.
The Republic JV won its match in straight sets, 25-12, 25-18. The freshman team also won in two, 26-24, 25-15.
The Lady Tigers are 5-1. They’ll be back home September 7 against Springfield Central.
