35-0

Republic opened the football season with a shutout at Lebanon. The Tigers forced a fumble on Lebanon’s second offensive snap — Baelor Cutbirth delivered the hit — and held the Yellowjackets to 95 total yards and seven first downs. Lebanon ran the ball 35 times and averaged two yards a carry.

4

Touchdowns for Nolan Lashley in his first varsity game carrying the football. Lashley played defense last season; in his debut at running back, he ran 19 times for 131 yards and scored from two, four, five, and 34 yards out, headlining a ground game that piled up 349 yards.

Tackles for loss by the Republic defense at Lebanon. Uriah Drew led the way with four, and Trenten Coleman, AJ Uhl, and Ethan Montiel added two apiece as the Tigers spent the night in the Yellowjackets’ backfield.

4-3

The shootout score when Republic outlasted Branson. Goalkeeper Koal Williams stopped back-to-back Branson kicks in the middle of the shootout, and Landon Otero buried the final attempt to win it after Republic rallied from a 1-0 deficit to force the tie.

5-1

Republic volleyball’s record after one week. The Lady Tigers went 4-1 at the Branson Invitational — sweeping through pool play without dropping a set — then returned to Branson on Monday and beat the Lady Pirates three sets to one.

Digs for Rylee Vent in Monday’s win at Branson — while also sharing team-high honors at the net with 13 kills, matching Reese Finley. Chloe Pullan handed out 32 assists.

17

Strikeouts for Kendra Goeke in just 11 innings of work through the softball team’s first four games. Nine of them came in Saturday’s 6-5 comeback win over Glendale, when she went the distance as Republic erased a four-run deficit.

1.371

Mia Carnes’ OPS through four games. Her four hits so far: a single, a double, a triple, and a home run — one of each. The triple was the biggest of the bunch, driving home the tying run in the sixth inning against Glendale before Carnes scored the winner herself on a squeeze play.

Zoey Johns’ time at the 417Running Cross Country Kickoff in Nixa, good for eighth place in her season opener. The junior led the Republic girls in the first race of the year.

3.60

Seconds Tytus Dorsey shaved off his best 100-yard freestyle time at the Joplin Outdoor Invitational — the biggest drop on a young Republic swim roster that brought four freshmen and a sophomore. The same group came back Tuesday and grabbed a pair of third-place relay finishes at the All-Relay meet in Springfield.

22

Republic track and field athletes named Academic All-State by the Missouri Track & Cross Country Coaches Association — nine Lady Tigers and thirteen Tigers who paired a state-series appearance with a 25 ACT, an 1150 SAT, or a 3.6 GPA.
